Keyboard shortcuts

Every keyboard shortcut and mouse action in MeshOptimiser, grouped by what it does.

On macOS, use ⌘ wherever this page says Ctrl.

Inside the app, press ? for the same list with a search field and a picture of the keyboard. Shortcuts with a single key do nothing while you are typing in a field, or while a window is open in front. This page lists the keys the app comes with. If you have changed some (see “Change a key” below), the app shows yours.

Change a key

Every key can be changed except Esc, the Quick wand’s Q and the mouse gestures. Open the list with ?.

  1. Click the shortcut you want to change, and press the new keys.
  2. If another command already has that combination, the app says which one and offers Replace. A few combinations are kept by the browser for itself (such as CtrlW and F5) and are refused.
  3. Use All commands to list the commands that have no key yet, so you can give them one.

The picture of the keyboard shows the keys that do something, lit and named after their command. Hold Ctrl, Shift or Alt, or click them in the picture, to see the keys of that combination, with the mouse gestures for the same keys under it. Press any combination to see what it does, or click a key to list everything on it.

Profiles

Your changes are kept in named profiles, in this browser. You can make a new one, duplicate, rename or delete one, and put every key back. Default is the app’s own keys and cannot be changed, so your first change starts a profile of your own.

The command search, the tooltips and the right-click menu show your keys. The keys written in the app menu and in the toolbar’s lists are still the default ones, and a command left without a key shows none.

Pick how you run it.
