v0.37.3Latest27 Oct 20269 fixes
Save writes over the file, the window’s title follows the scene, MeshOptimiser can be chosen in Explorer’s Open with list, and a long job tells you when it ends. An FBX keeps the names of its materials.
- NewSave (Ctrl+S) writes over the file without asking; Save scene as is Ctrl+Shift+S. The window’s title is the scene’s name, with a diamond while changes are not saved.
- NewMeshOptimiser can be chosen in Explorer’s Open with list for the model files it reads (the installer adds it); OBJ, FBX, STL, 3MF, USD and Collada can be handed to the program too.
- NewSettings › General › Notifications: a notification when a long job ends in the background, and the percent of a running job in the window’s title.
- FixMaterial names of an FBX (and other files) were lost; they now come in. Objects with objects under them (Cinema 4D) open as groups, and the pivots set in the file are on the parts.
- FixA part in a turned group reads its rotation from the group’s axes; the Heatmap no longer glows; Remove lettering finds marks on large parts.

v0.37.226 Oct 20268 fixes
A review of v0.37.1’s code: eight faults found by reading it, fixed.
- FixTexture size in the export window no longer leaves a shrunken picture on the graphics card, and Pictures as WebP keeps normal and other data maps lossless.
- FixEdit mesh closes when a library shape is picked (Bake geo first), and a new blank scene is no longer tagged as saved in the History card.
- FixThe fault overlays of the Model inspector share their buffers between copies of a mesh and follow their copy; Animate does less work per frame.
-
v0.37.125 Oct 202658 fixes
A History card that goes back to any step, a Model inspector that draws the faults of a mesh on the model, an Animate window that keeps what you move and copies its clips, and Settings built as cards.
- NewHistory card: every step Ctrl+Z goes back to, newest first; a click puts the model at any of them, and Clear history asks with a slider.
- NewModel inspector redrawn. Show in the view draws open edges, faces turned the wrong way, empty and doubled triangles, pinched corners and more on the model, one colour each.
- NewAnimate: positions in mm, copy and paste of clips (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V and a right-click menu), picked clips trimmed together, Space plays anywhere, and a part you move keeps its place.
- NewSettings as cards with a live summary, tiles for long runs of switches, and Saved in a scene file to say what a file keeps. Shadows start off every time.
- NewRight-click menus on the Animate, Library, Materials, search and More buttons of the toolbar; texture size and WebP when exporting.
- FixA part moved inside an animated group no longer snaps back, the floating Materials window no longer vanishes, and the view no longer goes black while it is resized.
-
v0.37.0Vršič24 Oct 202617 fixes
A section view that cuts the whole scene with a plane, a Photo mode with a toolbar, lens rings and softboxes, Remove thickness for thin-walled parts, and textures that go out with OBJ and FBX files.
- NewSection view: one plane through the whole scene, and the inside of the cut drawn flat, so you can look into a hollow part. Explode still works while it is on, and nothing can be picked.
- NewPhoto mode gets a toolbar of its own, three lens rings under V for focus, aperture and zoom, and softboxes in the reflections, so chrome shows clean streaks. Claude can set it all up.
- NewRemove thickness: a hollow pipe keeps its outside and a part bent from sheet keeps one face, and the faces that stay keep their shading.
- NewOBJ and FBX files are written with their textures, and the normal maps of OBJ, FBX, 3MF, USD and Collada models are the right way up.
- NewProfile: round the corners, grow or shrink the outline, trim the ends, and keep the chambers and holes you want. Round part shows the whole part.
- NewEvery value slider is a bar that fills in blue, and the sliding highlights stretch as they move. Settings has switches for sharp textures, finer shadows and smooth edges.
- NewThe Properties card keeps one height whatever is selected, with the tags in a line that slides sideways.
- FixA group no longer shows a volume larger than the group, and Simplify round faces no longer crumples pipes or changes the shading.
- FixTextures stay sharp at a slant, the CAD view’s looks are no longer dark, and a USDZ keeps its pictures at full size.
- FixProfile and Round part follow the part you select next, and Edit mesh’s points are the right size when you zoom out.
-
v0.36.123 Oct 20269 fixes
Booleans get one card with five styles, Photo mode looks like a studio render, Decimate keeps closer to the shape, and a new scene tab opens at once.
- NewOne Boolean card: Union, Subtract, Intersect, Without (the cut left open) and Split (a part cut in two), with options as Cinema 4D’s Boole has them, and one undo step.
- NewPhoto mode as a studio render: a contact shadow where the model stands, a softly glossy floor, a backdrop (Dark, Studio grey or White) and studio lights that follow the view.
- NewDecimate keeps closer to the shape: the points that stay move to stand in for the ones removed, so the surface moves a third less, in a third of the time. Quick remesh and Fit to budget do the same.
- NewProfile and Round: pick several points and move them together, line a point up with Shift, and choose the axis for Make solid.
- NewA new scene tab opens at once, with or without a model open.
- FixDecimate’s Within reduces large curved parts, and Intersect with three parts or more keeps only what they all share.
- FixIn Photo mode the model stands on the floor, and turning the HDRI in a Z-up scene turns the background too.
- FixAn FBX with missing textures draws, and KTX2 textures no longer need the internet.
-
v0.36.0Triglav22 Oct 202627 fixes
The biggest update so far. The 3D view moves to the latest three.js (r186) and picking to three-mesh-bvh 0.9.16, so big models are ready sooner and give their memory back. MeshOptimiser opens USD and Collada, profiles get a tool of their own, Photo mode refines a still view, and the lens is set in millimetres. 27 fixes.
- NewThe 3D view runs on three.js r186 (it was r172): big models are ready sooner because shaders are built without holding the page up, freed parts give their graphics memory back, and the HDRI turns its light and reflections with the background.
- NewPicking runs on three-mesh-bvh 0.9.16: a click on a part with several colours picks the right one, and the picking trees take less memory.
- NewOpens USD (.usd, .usda, .usdc, .usdz) and Collada (.dae), standing the right way up and at the right size.
- NewProfile: clean outline. A window frame, an aluminium extrusion or a seal strip becomes one clean solid. You see the cross-section as it is and as it will be, can move its points by hand, and nothing changes until Apply. Round part shares the same card.
- NewPhoto mode refines a still view over up to 32 frames, for smooth edges and soft shadows, and offers three looks: Neutral, Soft and Contrast.
- NewThe lens in millimetres: a bigger number zooms in, as on a camera. Right-click the camera pill for the lens and navigation settings.
- NewTextures show on the material balls and in the texture slots, a picture can be dropped on a slot, and an FBX or OBJ finds the maps beside it by name.
- NewAlign to floor works on just the selected parts.
- FixA big model shows only once it turns smoothly, and Ctrl+Z works straight after opening it.
- FixRemesh works on a STEP part after Decimate, and Decimate’s Target and Within fields show again.
- FixRemove holes no longer opens thin plates, a GLB with JPEG textures is no longer ten times too big, and a texture change can be undone.
- FixParts copied in Photo mode get their shadows, and Ctrl+Z after an isolate undoes only the isolate.
-
v0.35.522 Oct 202642 fixes
Photo mode gets depth of field, Edit mesh a Visible switch, and the status pills slide. Then a review of the whole app: merges keep their materials, mirrored parts stay the right way out, and the STEP converter cleans up after itself. 42 fixes.
- NewPhoto mode has depth of field: Alt+click a point of the model, or press Pick, to focus there. Save photo keeps it.
- NewEdit mesh has a Visible switch: off, a box or the Brush takes the back sides and the parts hidden behind others too.
- NewThe status pills beside the camera pill (Isolated, Exploded, Measure, Notes, Animate) slide in and out instead of popping.
- FixMerging parts turned their materials white. A merged part keeps each part’s own material, and opens again with them.
- FixBake transforms, Set transform and the booleans turned a mirrored part inside out.
- FixThe mesh tools threw away vertex colours, extra UV sets and a STEP part’s CAD faces.
- FixA damaged STEP said only “exited with code 1”, and a failed or cancelled conversion left files behind.
- FixIn Edit mesh, dots were cut by their own faces, open sheets worked from one side, and Ctrl+Z went back through old picks after a long session.
- FixClaude’s tools changed locked parts, and Clean up took two undos.
- FixThe app kept working out its page styles while nothing happened; tooltips were far too long.
-
v0.35.421 Oct 20263 fixes
Edit mesh keeps up with big models: a part of millions of triangles is read in the background, shows its points, and moves and box-picks without holding the view up. 3 fixes.
- NewA very big part is read in the background as soon as you go into Edit mesh, and the view keeps turning meanwhile. A click or a box you make before it is ready is made as soon as it is.
- NewPoints mode shows up to two million points, so a part of millions of triangles shows its points a few seconds after you go into the mode.
- NewMoving picked pieces on a part of two million triangles takes half a second instead of five, and a box over it follows the mouse again.
- NewMany picked edges or points no longer slow the pointer and the view down.
- NewMerge by group names the merged part after its group.
- FixDissolving a point on an edge line that has another line ending at it did nothing.
- FixThe CAD view painted merged and painted parts grey, and the Edit mesh tools could drop you out of Edit mesh.
-
v0.35.320 Oct 20267 fixes
Smart optimise looks through the model before it changes anything, the colour picker has a right-click menu, and the colours, spacing and buttons of the whole app were gone through again. 7 fixes.
- NewSmart optimise scans first. A list says what it found (empty parts, exact copies, hidden parts, fasteners, small parts, holes), and Highlight and Isolate show you those parts before anything is changed.
- NewThe colour picker has a right-click menu: copy and paste the colour, and read it as HEX, RGB, HSV or HSL.
- NewClick a material on the Properties card to pick it, double-click to open it, and press Delete to take it off the selected parts.
- NewA saved scene opens with the same parts selected, and the view still isolated if it was.
- NewThe parts tree has Scroll to top and Show in list. The Quick wand is on Q, and W switches the gizmo between World and Local.
- PolishA new black, flat main buttons, one check box everywhere, and rows, tabs and cards set on whole pixels.
- FixText in the parts tree looked soft, and a window opened over a drawer rose in beneath it and then jumped in front.
- FixA refresh left the sidebars scrolled and Notes mode on, and the right-click menu of a material was drawn under the selection buttons.
-
v0.35.220 Oct 20267 fixes
Parts can be copied from one scene tab or one window into another, the app opens in a window of its own, and Animate edits several clips at once. 7 fixes.
- NewCopy parts from one scene into another, in a tab or in another window, with their colours, materials and pictures. A pill on top of the view says what came across.
- NewMenu › New window opens the app again in a window of its own, and the app menu has a Website link.
- NewSplit meshes by material: a mesh that came in with several materials comes apart into one part for each.
- NewAnimate: drag rows of the timeline into order, edit several clips at once, add an animation with the plus on the object’s card, and nothing plays until you press Play.
- NewA Tools card with Merge, Decimate, Recentre, Align and Remove hidden faces beside the clean-ups, and Delete small parts as a floating card.
- NewClaude can take its pictures in Photo mode, and asks you first.
- FixGlass and other see-through materials no longer hide what is behind them, and a scene saved with Photo mode on opens with its own background.
- FixThe move, rotate and scale handles grabbed the mouse from too far away, and a command card that grew past the top edge could not be reached.
-
v0.35.119 Oct 202612 fixes
Big STEP files are meshed on all cores, the command cards line up, and drags stay smooth on a big model. 12 fixes.
- NewBig STEP files are meshed on all cores. A 357 MB engine opens in 81 seconds instead of 103, and a 45 MB gearbox meshes in under five.
- NewA tool’s card shows the Wireframe on the part in work only, so each step of a slider is easy to see.
- NewThe command cards are calmer: small switches, evenly spaced rows, no picture on top, and Smart optimise and Reduce triangles float over the view like the rest.
- NewA brighter default light, a plain-text list of recent tools, and lighter greys in every panel.
- FixThe page no longer rewrites itself several times a second while you wait, and slider scrubs, sidebar resizes, drags and Alt-orbiting stay smooth on a big model.
- FixIn Edit mesh the lines and dots drew in the wrong order, and dots showed through other parts. The floor grid no longer breaks up when zoomed far out.
- FixA part could stop drawing a few seconds after a tool. The recovery copy of a big scene no longer holds the page for a moment.
- FixTurning off Materials in the STEP import settings now does what it says.
-
v0.35.0Vipava19 Oct 202695 fixes
One part can wear several colours. STEP files open with clean, even strips on fillets, and Photo mode draws the model for pictures. 214 fixes, from textures and UVs to models from Blender.
- NewSeveral colours on one part. Pick polygons in Edit mesh and press Colour, or drop a material on them. The part stays one closed part, each colour is a card in its material strip, and files from other programs come in the same way and go out in every format.
- NewCleaner STEP meshes. Clean, even strips on fillets, a Clean quality, and CAD edit to pick whole CAD faces, take them out and remesh.
- NewTools that read the CAD faces of a STEP: Remove holes, Untriangulate, Simplify round faces, Remove fillets and chamfers, Remove lettering and logos.
- NewPhoto mode, five photographed environments as picture cards, and a shorter Scene card.
- NewClose open edges, Untriangulate into quads, and a Decimate that keeps the shape closer.
- FixA STEP with faces painted in different colours came in as one colour or in pieces. It is one closed part now, and colours set on a part’s label come through.
- FixAn OBJ came in without its colours, and a textured GLB, OBJ or FBX opened with its textures gone. Both keep their colours, opacity and pictures now.
- FixThe CAD edges of a STEP part went away when the part was changed, and undo brought a part back without its CAD faces. They now stay through the tools and through undo, and a GLB saved from the app carries them.
- FixA STEP that is a surface model, or holds only triangles, would not open or came out inside-out. Both open correctly; faces the mesher gave up on are counted and reported.
- FixThe STEP cache never worked. Converting the same file again is now more than twice as fast, and a native crash no longer leaves the conversion running for ever.
- FixSmall round parts from a STEP came out polygonal and a few percent too small, and long triangles met in a point on flat panels. Both are meshed properly now.
- FixA model from Blender (or any Y-up glTF, OBJ or FBX) opened lying on its back, and a GLB a thousand times too small. Files open upright at their real size and export in each format’s own way.
- FixThe mesh tools threw away a part’s texture coordinates, and an FBX export had none. UVs now survive the tools and every export, and are no longer written upside down between formats.
- FixRemove holes took minutes on a hole with thousands of points and left stray lines inside a part. It is fast, and a new switch removes what is sealed inside.
- FixRemove lettering found nothing on a cast, curved face and left slivers where letters had been. Marks are found by their shape and the caps are clean.
- FixVoxel remesh could leave edges with four faces, Convex hull cut corners, and Repair mesh made some parts worse. They now match Blender’s results on the test parts.
- FixSplit blew a part into hundreds of pieces, and Merge left mirrored parts inside out and lost textures. Both are fixed.
- FixUndoing a step Claude made could take one of my own earlier steps with it, and a dry run could change the model with no way back. Undo, redo and dry runs are sound now.
- FixExporting an exploded view wrote parts together and apart, and mirrored parts came out inside-out in OBJ, STL, PLY and FBX. Both export correctly.
- FixPhoto mode glitches, a car paint that went pitch black, and lighting from the side are fixed; a change in Settings > Appearance reaches every open tab.
-
v0.34.0Bled16 Oct 20268 fixes
Animate gets a timeline along the bottom and a motion for pistons. Claude can read and write notes. Axis tools arrive, a selected group shows its parts softly, and the Windows download can carry Python inside.
- NewA timeline along the bottom. Animate is a drawer set out like a video editor: a ruler, a row for every animated object and a bar for every motion. Drag the ruler or the playhead to scrub; drag the end of a bar to change its repeats and the bar to change its delay.
- NewOscillate, for pistons, rockers and pumps. A to-and-fro on all three axes of shift and of turn at once, perfectly loopable. Waves: Sine, Piston (a crank turning a rod), Eased and Triangle, with lags that turn X and Y into circles and ellipses.
- NewAnimation leaves the app. Include animation writes every moving part into a GLB or glTF as keyframes, and the timeline can be rendered to a WebM video. An Animation card in the right column plays, pauses, plays backwards and loops three ways.
- NewAxis Center and the Axis card. Centre the axis of a part and reset its rotation, move the axis or the object to the origin, the selection or the view, align the axis to the world, its parent or the part’s faces, reset the scale. One undo step each, and the shape never moves.
- NewClaude and notes. Seven new tools read, answer and leave notes (Claude writes under its own name and never signs a scene off), and four more lock parts, make copies unique, select instances and remove loose bits: 78 tools in all.
- NewA selected group shows its parts softly. Ctrl+click or Shift+click lights up the ones you pick, and the group stays selected.
- NewPython can come inside the Windows download. With the runtime folder beside the app, the first start has nothing to install.
- NewShare to GrabCAD, Sketchfab, Printables, Thingiverse, Cults and MyMiniFactory from the Export window.
- PolishThe Notes card has one toolbar and a menu, and recent cards show their notes. The search marks commands that open a panel and has shorter names. Claude mode says what each call did in words and shows no floor grid. Fewer pills. Dragging a command card is smooth.
- PolishThe name in a serif: Fraunces Light for the name and the card titles, Source Serif 4 for the Serif choice. Both ship with the app.
- FixThe installer works where Windows Script Host is switched off.
- FixHeavy jobs no longer start on top of each other: Remove holes, Reduce, Split, Merge, Flatten, Fit and Smart optimise run one at a time.
- FixA part that follows another is no longer sheared, stray edge lines after Remove holes are gone, and the Materials and Library docks no longer stack.
-
v0.33.0Ptuj16 Oct 20263 fixes
Notes are tasks. A title, a description, the parts, who it is for, a priority and a due date, with comments under them, and the notes leave the app as a spreadsheet, JSON or BCF.
- NewA note is made with a form. Press N and click a spot, or right-click the model: Add a note here, Add a note to this part. A title, an optional description, the kind, who it is for, the priority, a due date and a screenshot. Comments go under the note afterwards.
- NewEach kind has its own shape: a circle for Info, a rounded square for Question, a triangle for Issue, a diamond for Idea, with the number inside. A finished note is green, a late one has a red dashed outline, and a pin can show the title as a label on the model.
- NewPriority and due dates. High and urgent notes are marked on the pin and in the list, a late note says Overdue, the list can be ordered by priority or due date, and opening a scene says how many notes are late.
- NewA note can be about many parts, with no limit. The Parts section has a card for every part: Focus selects the part and takes the camera to it, and in edit mode a bin takes a part off and Add selected adds the parts selected in the viewport.
- NewScreenshots, up to six, each with its own view. Clicking a picture flies back to the view it was taken from, and no picture is taken unless it is asked for.
- NewComments have a thumb up, a thumb down and reply, and a reply shows what it answers. Typing @ offers the names on the notes, and a mention is highlighted.
- NewEdit is in the three dots and turns them into a pencil: the title, description, kind, assignee, priority, due date and parts become fields, and the comments are out of the way until you press the pencil again.
- NewSign-off on the scene. Approve or Changes in the card: one answer for everyone, shown with the names and saved with the scene.
- NewThe note window opens on the right of the view, drags by its title bar, resizes by its edges, remembers where and how big, scrolls inside itself and has its shadow only while it is the window in use. Right-click a pin for comment, edit, resolve, kind, priority, due date, assign to me, move and delete.
- NewThe Notes card is a task list: a tick marks a note done, with filters, search, order, only the notes on the selected part, arrows that go through the list and fly to each note, and a button that shows only the parts that have notes.
- NewCSV, JSON and BCF. The export button writes a report page, a spreadsheet, JSON with every detail, or BCF 2.1 for design tools. Bring in notes reads a scene, a JSON file or a BCF file; a BCF file from another tool comes in without a pin and keeps its view.
- FixSave writes over the scene’s file again after a restart. A scene saved by this app opens ready to be saved over, and Save with the same name replaces that file without asking where. A model from elsewhere is never offered for overwriting.
- FixA big STEP file with colours on could stop the import with “step2glb.py exited with code 3221225477”. The app now tries again with the plain reader, so the model still opens, and the log says so.
- FixThe notes window and card were rough: a pin slid away from the pointer on hover, the window jumped when clicked, the card would not fold, and the name box did not look like the rest of the app. All four are put right.
-
v0.32.0Idrija15 Oct 2026
Notes. Leave them on the model, answer, edit and resolve them, and send the scene with everything inside.
- NewNotes on the model. Press N and click a spot: a numbered pin stays on that part, and follows it when the part moves, is hidden or the view is exploded. A small picture of the view is kept with the note. A note can also be about the selected part or the whole scene.
- NewA conversation, not a label. Each note has a tag (Info, Question, Issue, Idea), can be given to somebody, and anyone can reply, edit or delete any message, resolve the note or open it again.
- NewEvery change carries a name. You type your name once; every message shows who wrote it and when. An edit says who made it and keeps what it replaced, a deleted message says who deleted it and can come back, and each note has a history.
- NewSaved with the scene. The notes go in the scene file, together with when each person last saved, so New to me shows what somebody else changed. Exports never contain notes, and other programs open the scene as an ordinary GLB.
- NewThe Notes card lists them with filters (Open, All, Resolved, New to me, Mine, Deleted), search and sorting, and a click flies the camera back to the view the note was written from.
- NewBring in the notes of another copy. When two people worked on their own copies of one scene, the notes are joined: new notes added, replies, edits and resolutions put together, and nothing anyone wrote is lost.
- NewA report anyone can open. The notes as one HTML page with the pictures, every message, who edited what and the history. Copy puts them on the clipboard as text.
-
v0.31.115 Oct 20268 fixes
Enter goes into Edit mesh, Edit mesh and Undo work together, materials stay level everywhere, and the viewport no longer stalls.
- NewEnter goes into Edit mesh with a part selected, in the mode you used last, and Enter again goes back out.
- NewThe colour picker can be moved. Drag the strip along its top, or the hint along its bottom, to put it where it does not cover what you are colouring.
- FixEdit mesh and Undo / Redo work together. What was picked is picked again after Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y of a move, and a delete taken back picks what it deleted.
- FixThe viewport no longer stalls after editing. When the graphics card refuses a frame because a mesh has no normals, the app now repairs it and uploads the parts again by itself.
- FixEvery place that shows a material says the same thing at once: the Materials list, the card in Properties, the inspector and the dots in the part tree. Drop a material on a part, assign it, undo it or change its colour, and they all follow.
- FixThe colour dot in the part tree is the colour of the part’s material, not a copy kept on the part, so it can no longer show an old colour.
- FixHeavy parts: the bars no longer grow again after every edit, and selecting a part in the view no longer ticks it in the list.
- FixThe log console covers the toolbar at the bottom of the view instead of sitting under it.
- FixThe buttons at the bottom of the Claude connection menu fit inside it. Claude mode has a row of its own and the other three sit under it.
- PolishThe buttons in the top bar draw their icons at one size, so the sidebar button no longer looks heavier than Menu and Export.
- PolishThe cards on the start screen show their shortcut when you point at them.
- PolishSearch and filter boxes no longer pop up a tooltip. Their placeholder already says what they are.
-
v0.31.0Bled15 Oct 20266 fixes
A polish of the interface, and a tidier folder. Icons, menus and dropdowns share one look, groups can be locked, Export keeps the rest under Advanced and puts each part’s axis at the part, and the download is organised like an installed program.
- NewA polish of the interface. The toolbar icons are sharper, their dividers easy to see, and the + and − of the part tree sit in the middle of their circles. Every menu and dropdown looks the same and opens the same way, and closes at once.
- NewThe right-click menus of the part tree are about half as long. What you use least is one level in: Visibility, Select, Mesh, Fit and Tree for a part; Group, Order and Expand and collapse for a group.
- NewPivot points in Export. A part from a STEP file has its origin at 0, 0, 0, so in another program every axis sat there. GLB, glTF, FBX and USDZ now write each part around its own centre, so the axis is at the part. FBX objects carry the rotation and scale of their part too.
- NewGroups can be locked. Lock in Properties, or “Lock everything inside” on the right-click menu of a group, locks every part in it. A locked part or group shows a red lock where its icon is.
- NewThe Export window shows the format, the file name and “Visible parts only” up front. The rest is under Advanced, and it stays open or shut as you left it.
- NewA tidier folder, and why. The top of the download had grown past fifty files, so it was hard to see what to double-click. It is organised like an installed program now: the launchers, the README and the licence, and one folder, app, with the program inside. The launchers keep their names, so shortcuts keep working.
- NewMoving from an older version is one full download. The installer moves your inbox and exports into app, keeps the old loose files in a backup folder, and the first start builds the Python environment again.
- PolishThe launcher window draws the name out of a wire mesh and shows a bar for each step.
- PolishA tooltip no longer shows over a menu that is open, and the list beside a menu row stands next to it instead of over it.
- FixExporting to FBX and opening it in another program put every part’s axis at 0, 0, 0. It is now at the part.
- FixRight-click menus no longer flicker when they close.
- FixThe cards of the right panel sit on whole pixels, so their text and rows are no longer soft.
-
v0.30.0Kobarid15 Oct 20269 fixes
Two alpha features: Claude mode, to follow Claude as a feed with your model beside it, and Animate, to make parts spin, swing, shake and travel. Also instance commands, three-way permissions for Claude, a redesigned Settings and a rounder look.
- NewClaude mode (alpha). Hide the app and follow Claude as a feed: what it says, every call it makes with what came back, and every picture it takes, with your model beside it as a rounded card you can show or hide. Open it from the start screen, the Claude badge, the command search, or with ?claude on the address. It is an early version, so expect rough edges.
- NewThe first card of a Claude session is your model. It shows the picture, the name, type and size, the parts, triangles and vertices, how long it took to open, and a green “Ready for Claude”. The numbers roll up as it lands, and the model fades in.
- NewOpen a model in Claude mode. The folder button opens “Open file…” and your recent files, with a picture, size and age each, and the latest marked Continue. You can drop a file on the feed. A model opens in the same view and replaces the one that is open, with no scene tab laid over it.
- NewLoading you can follow. A card floats above the controls with what the app is doing, the step, the percent, the time and a Cancel button. Nothing in the feed moves when it appears.
- NewControls in the feed. Three buttons copy the command of a ready-made job (Optimise for web, Remove fasteners, Review scene), switches for Connected and Ask before edits, Undo and Redo, a button that copies the connection command, and a Stop button while a long job runs. Exit asks first.
- NewClaude can write to the feed. A new tool, say, puts a short message in front of you: what it is about to do and what it found. Claude now has 67 tools.
- NewAnimate (alpha). A new window makes a part or a group spin, swing, shake (noise) or travel along a path: circle, figure of eight, rounded square, wave or line. Each has its own controls, spin and path loop with loop points on a small timeline, and a part can carry one layer of each kind, added together. A playbar plays, pauses, rewinds and scrubs one cycle at 0.25× to 4×. A pill in the view says Animate mode, Playing or Paused.
- NewAnimations are a view, not an edit. They keep running when the window closes, saving a scene or exporting puts every part back first, and the turntable video plays them, each frame at its own time. Open Animate from a right-click on a part, a group or the view, or with Ctrl+K.
- NewClaude can say what moves. The new animate_parts tool adds, removes, lists or clears animations by part, name or group.
- NewSelect all instances, Select the original and Make unique. Pick every part that shares the exact same geometry, jump to the first of them, or give the selected shared parts a mesh of their own so editing one leaves the copies alone (one undo step). They are in the command search, the “…” menu, and the right-click menus of the tree and the view.
- NewClaude’s permissions are three choices per kind of change: Allow, Ask first or Block, as a small icon switch in Settings › Claude. The old switches keep working until you choose.
- NewThe start screen shows a Scania V8 engine, 1,295 parts, in line drawing, and there is a tool to bake one from any GLB (tools/app/build-splash-glb.mjs).
- PolishClaude’s quick colour wheel opens with the part’s colour under the pointer. Move to choose and click the ring to keep it. Letting go of C, Esc or a click outside puts the old colour back.
- PolishSettings looks like a settings window should: wider, with the search at the top of the section list, no header and footer bars, bigger rows with a quiet line of help, and group titles in plain type.
- PolishAdvanced flatten shows each choice as a small before and after tree, with a legend, whole cards you can click and shorter help. It is at the top of the Flatten menu, and “Selected groups only” follows the selection while the window is open.
- PolishBatch rename, Advanced flatten, Animate, Materials and Library share one title bar. Windows and the tree and menus open, close and drag more smoothly.
- PolishRounder corners by default. Appearance › Corners is now Sharp or Default, and a saved Round is Default.
- PolishThe Export window lists the formats by name, and the Export button floats at the bottom right and folds into a round button while you scroll the options.
- PolishThe keyboard shortcuts window is in colour: an icon on each command, a colour for each group, and the keys of the on-screen keyboard tinted by category. It follows the colour switch for search results.
- PolishThe start screen puts New scene first. A converted file is a badge on its card. The quit dialog has a warning, keeps Don’t save apart from Cancel and Save, and focuses Save.
- PolishThe seven tree toolbar buttons share the row, the button of an open menu stays lit, and a second press closes its menu. The command-panel buttons turn blue while their card is open. Scrubbing a number shows a visible fill. One tick mark is used everywhere.
- PolishThe File menu no longer lists Scene settings and Help & docs. Both are in the command search, Ctrl+; and F1 still open them, and the start screen has Help.
- PolishThe view toggles in the Library and Materials windows have a sliding thumb, and the selected button is clearly lighter. Toolbars over the view sit on whole device pixels.
- FixA STEP made of faceted breps (a mesh exported from 3ds Max or CAD Exchanger) failed with “no solid bodies found in this STEP” after ten minutes. The plain reader now meshes the closed shells, so it opens: the 413 MB Mercedes-Benz Arocs, with 645,108 bodies.
- FixUndo and redo on an exploded view left the parts, the sliders and the pill out of step, and holding Ctrl+Z froze the page. They now put an exploded view back together first, and a held Ctrl+Z or Ctrl+Y does one step per press.
- FixExploding, deleting a part, putting the view back and undoing the delete brought the part back exploded, with the amount at zero. A deleted part now moves with the exploded view.
- FixThe × count and the “original” mark on instances were wrong after Make unique or deleting copies. The count is live now, and the first of its kind keeps the part icon.
- FixDragging a material ball showed the system’s copy arrow, which could not be hidden. The ball itself follows the pointer now, and drops on the view, on the Properties material card, or with Shift on another material to merge.
- FixDelete and Backspace deleted parts in the view while I was working in the Materials window. They delete the picked materials there now.
- FixThe Model mode button, and keys 1, 2 and 3, did nothing useful with nothing selected. The button is greyed and the keys say “Select a part first.” Edit mesh is off while the Animate window is open.
- FixThe grid lines in the view were two or three pixels of mush from far away. They are one crisp pixel now, axis lines included.
- FixOpening Advanced flatten decided “Selected groups only” once. It now follows what is selected.
- PerfDragging and resizing a floating window, the Materials and Library docks and the console happens once per frame, and the sizes are saved once, when you let go.
- PerfBackground checks pause while the tab is hidden, and the thumbnails in the Materials list are drawn as they scroll into view.
- PerfBackdrop blur is gone from the dialogs, pills, the gizmo HUD and tooltips, which makes drawing lighter. Batch rename draws the first 300 rows of its preview and says how many more it renames by the same rule.

v0.29.0Bohinj14 Oct 20269 fixes
Big assemblies got easier to handle. Groups now line up, copy and keep their pivots as one piece, and the whole workspace looks and moves like a finished app: windows, menus and the colour wheel with a macOS feel, and every edge and icon line sharp to the pixel.
- NewAlign and Spread work on groups. A selected group is lined up as one item, measured by the box round all its parts, so its parts keep their places against each other. Mix groups and loose parts if you like; a group with a locked part stays where it is.
- NewCopy several groups at once. Each group comes out as a whole folder next to its original, with its own pivot, turn and scale, and one undo for each.
- NewCopy, duplicate and paste materials. In the materials window, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+D and Ctrl+V work on the picked material, and the inspector has Duplicate and Delete buttons.
- PolishA macOS feel. A layered shadow on the window in front, windows and dialogs that spring open, menus that fade out, and a minimize when a floating Materials or Library window closes.
- PolishSelect is the blue tool in the tool strip and the gizmo tools are grey when on. Dynamic place sits beside Measure and Draw lines, and the Shading angle has moved into the Shading card.
- PolishA tighter quick colour wheel. It clears the view while it is open, draws back in when it closes, and no longer scans every part on every frame.
- PolishSharp to the pixel. Edges and lines sit on whole device pixels, icon lines are one pixel thick, and a press dims a button instead of shrinking it, so nothing goes soft while you click.
- PolishHeavy parts has better bars, rows you tick together join into one shape, and a part in the Library view keeps turning a little after you let go.
- FixPivots of copied groups, and of groups you moved together, stay where they belong.
- FixUndo no longer leaves a ghost copy of a group that comes back on the next click, and a copied shape keeps its parameters.
- FixThe name row of the Properties card keeps one height, and the material in the sidebar follows a colour pick.
-
v0.28.0Postojna14 Oct 202613 fixes
MeshOptimiser now tells you what is wrong inside a model, and helps you fix it. Faces that point the wrong way, holes, needle triangles, a texture laid out badly: found, shown and one tap from fixed. Your CAD file keeps its true edges. And it installs with a double-click.
- NewModel inspector. One window shows what the model is and what is broken in it: inside-out parts, faces turned the wrong way, holes and cracks, doubled and needle triangles. Every problem has a button to select it and a button that opens the tool that fixes it.
- NewFix normals. Find the faces that point the wrong way, turn them round or line them up with their neighbours, and paint the wrong side red while you look. One undo takes it back.
- NewUV layout. See how a texture sits on a part: the islands, what covers the same place twice, what lies outside the square, with the numbers beside it.
- NewThe true faces and edges of a STEP file. A CAD edges pill appears when you open one. Point at a face and it is named and tinted; hide the tangent edges of fillets when they are in the way. Sheet covers and other surface-only parts come along too.
- NewQuick colour wheel. Hold C over the model, move, let go. The angle is the hue, the distance is the saturation, the scroll wheel is the brightness. Drag far out to cancel.
- NewA colour picker built for modelling: a square or a wheel, HEX, RGB, HSV and HSL, a pipette, and Ctrl+Z that steps back through the colours you picked. Materials are edited right where you see them.
- NewOne View button for Solid, Wireframe, X-ray and Heatmap, quick choices on Collapse, Rename and Flatten, four more lists in the Commands menu, and a tidier Quick wand.
- NewA one-click installer for Windows. It finds the newest version, downloads it with a progress bar, adds MeshOptimiser to your Desktop and Start menu, and gets Chrome if you do not have it. Settings › General can show or hide the terminal window.
- PolishProperties and Shading sit edge to edge, Reduce shows what it will do as a figure, and the Edit mesh tool bar slides in and out.
- FixUndo now reaches colours and sliders in the material editor and the light, exposure, field of view and fog sliders, and shortcuts work while a slider has the focus.
- FixThe colour picker keeps its Was and New strip while you drag, its corners are clean, and Ctrl+Z no longer closes it.
- FixSwitching Shadows on and off quickly no longer loses the view, and closing with a model open asks first.
- FixAlign and Repair mesh turn pieces with gaps outward, a part inverted all over included, and points in Edit mesh no longer show through thin parts.
-
v0.27.114 Oct 20261 fix
A small fix, about the pictures you take: a transparent background is really transparent now.
- FixA picture with a transparent background came out black. Render image now gives a see-through PNG, and a white, light, grey, dark or black background shows its own colour.
-
v0.27.0Piran14 Oct 202613 fixes
Shadows in the view, car paint that does not look like sandpaper, a Quick remesh that reduces the way a modeller would, and scenes that come back as they were saved.
- NewShadows. The sun casts shadows on the parts and a soft one on the floor, along its rays. It is part of a saved scene.
- NewQuick remesh reduces the way a modeller does in Blender: flat faces joined, every second line of a ring grid dissolved, then cut evenly again. It works on OBJ files too.
- NewChange pivot orientation. Turn the pivot of the selected parts to World, Last selected, View, Spread or your own angles; the parts look exactly as they did.
- NewHide and Isolate are switches, and a folder of the model’s tree pastes as one new group.
- NewCar paint presets with a faint flake shimmer, and a Keep texture coordinates switch on import.
- PolishA slimmer loading card with a time estimate for STEP files, Settings groups as cards, Geist and Space Grotesk typefaces, and a Memory pane in Settings › Performance.
- FixA saved scene leads Recent and keeps the look of its materials, a paint’s colour, the unit, grid, lights, shadows, locks and the explode amount.
- FixCtrl+C copies selected text again; the app took it whenever a part was selected.
- FixRemove holes with Ctrl+Z in a loop no longer runs the page out of memory, and Undo waits while a long step is running.
- FixClosing Quick remesh in the middle of its work no longer freezes the page.
- FixRemove holes closes a ring groove round a flat island. The Exploded view sliders move one percent at a time.
- FixA file written with a leftover transparent flag no longer opens as patchwork in other programs, and white lettering under a dark colour shows again.
-
v0.26.0Bovec13 Oct 20265 fixes
Faster, lighter and easier to pick with. Box and Brush now select whole parts, big files open without freezing the page, opening the same STEP again is instant, and the app gives memory back.
- NewBox and Brush pick whole parts. In Model mode the selection tool has the same Click, Box and Brush as Edit mesh. Shift adds, Alt turns the camera, and the middle button sets the brush size.
- NewOne selection-tool button in the left toolbar. Let go over a row of its list and that tool is picked.
- NewPoint at a row of the part list and the part lights up in the view. Switch it off in Settings › Viewport.
- NewOpening the same STEP file again takes no time. The converted model is kept, and a new release or a different import setting never gets an old answer.
- PolishDelete small parts: Isolate is a switch that shows only the parts that would go, so you can check them first. Highlight sits on the card.
- PolishOne look for sliders, scrollbars, number fields and menus. Sliders have a white thumb with a soft halo while you hold them.
- PolishA selection draws at once. The outline of a heavy part is worked out in the background and appears when it is ready.
- PolishBig GLB, glTF, OBJ and FBX files no longer freeze the page while they open, and Repair mesh works in the background.
- PolishThe app gives memory back: geometry that Undo can no longer reach is freed, and so is the geometry of parts you deleted.
- PolishTwo conversions run at a time and the rest wait their turn. The upload folder cleans itself every hour.
- FixA spring or a coarse curve is no longer drawn as a bundle of lines. Its smooth facets are not edges.
- FixRepair mesh welds a model that is far from the origin correctly.
- FixThe start screen no longer hides a newly opened tab, and a frame that failed to draw is tried again.
- FixRemove holes now handles meshes of up to twelve million triangles.
-
v0.25.0Bled13 Oct 20266 fixes
More to build with, and a better way to line it all up. Twenty-six new library parts, an Align parts panel, a Transform panel that works on several parts, and a search you can move.
- New26 new library parts on two new shelves. The library has 112 parts on eight shelves now. Bearings, a timing pulley, a rail carriage, fans, a circuit board, a servo, and nine brackets and connectors.
- NewAlign parts. Line parts up or spread them evenly along X, Y and Z, to the selection, the last part you picked or the origin. Set a gap if you want one. Each press is one undo.
- NewTransform several parts at once. A field shows the number the parts share, or mixed. Type one and it goes to each part on its own, about its own origin.
- NewMove the search. Drag its icon and it goes where you want it, drag its edge to change the width. It remembers, and a double-click puts it back.
- NewA part search that forgives a typo. Words in any order, quotes, or, minus, triangle filters like >5000, and a second try when nothing matches: braket finds Bracket.
- NewBake geo turns a library shape into an ordinary mesh, so the Edit mesh tools work on it. Ctrl+Z gives the shape back.
- PolishThe Edit mesh tools are a bar at the right of the view, and Box pick follows the box while you drag.
- PolishWith several parts selected, the gizmo keeps their shared turn instead of snapping to the scene’s axes.
- PolishLong messages scroll like a banner until you have read them, and the Quick remesh column is slimmer.
- FixFrame selected works from an orthographic camera.
- FixWireframe lines of a thin part no longer show through from far away, and Edit mesh edges no longer vanish close to the camera.
- FixQuick remesh no longer leaves a small part with a quarter of its surface. It takes the next gentler level.
- FixDragging the size of a heavy shape is smoother, and the start fade follows each sidebar’s own opacity.
-
v0.24.0Soča12 Oct 20264 fixes
Into the mesh. Pick points, edges and polygons and move, weld, fill or dissolve them. The shortcuts window is a keyboard now, and every key is yours to change.
- NewEdit mesh. Points, Edges, Polygons and Model. Keys 1, 2, 3 and 4 switch between them, and the selected parts show their polygons, not their triangles.
- NewThree ways to pick: Click, Box and Brush. Shift adds, Ctrl takes away, a double-click takes the whole loop. Ctrl+A takes everything.
- NewMove what you picked. The gizmo moves, turns and scales the pieces, Del takes them out, Reverse normals turns faces round. Each is one undo.
- NewSix tools for the pieces: Dissolve, Planarize, Straighten, Weld, Fill and Extract. Take points out without a hole, flatten polygons, straighten a line, join points, close a hole, lift polygons into a part of their own.
- NewThe gizmo works along World or Local axes. Hold or right-click Move, Rotate or Scale to choose. In Edit mesh there is Normal too.
- NewA keyboard in the shortcuts window. Lit keys carry their command. Hold Ctrl, Shift or Alt and the keyboard shows what those do.
- NewYour own keys. Click a shortcut and press the new keys. A key that is taken warns you first. Keep your set in a profile, one per person if you like.
- NewQuick remesh on B. A column of levels opens under the pointer and the part changes as you move. Let go to keep it.
- NewUntriangulate clears more. It can take away the points on straight lines, and tidy faces that are only nearly flat.
- NewA Scale switch in the Transform panel, and a group can be scaled: type a scale for a group and its parts follow.
- NewClaude’s screenshots can fill the picture: framed on the whole model or on the selected parts.
- PolishThe view modes moved to Alt+1 to Alt+4, so 1 to 4 can switch the Edit mesh mode.
- PolishSettings › Appearance uses the app’s own colour picker, and the window steps aside while you drag so you see the colour on the real thing.
- PolishA faster start. The browser keeps the app’s files and only asks whether one changed.
- PolishWireframe with Quads no longer freezes the page on big parts.
- FixA click on the gizmo in Edit mesh is no longer an empty Move in the history.
- FixDelete in Edit mesh keeps the polygons of what stays, and Reverse normals no longer grows the mesh.
- FixAfter a big change of scale the view follows, and parts no longer vanish as too small.
- FixAlt+1 to Alt+4 work on a Mac.
-
v0.23.0Rače12 Oct 202615 fixes
Cleaner meshes, your way. Decide how a CAD file turns into triangles, close the holes that used to slip through, and find anything, even a setting, by typing a word or two.
- NewYou decide how a CAD file comes in. A new Tessellation block sets how closely triangles follow the surface, how round curves stay and how small an edge may get. By part size brings big parts in fine and keeps screws light.
- NewSmoother from the first second. Shading comes straight from the CAD surfaces: fillets blend in, cylinders show no seam, sharp edges stay sharp. Swap Y and Z stands up a model that arrives on its side.
- NewFill holes is now Remove holes, and it finishes the job. No more ring of points where a hole was, no loose bits of wall, and it can seal openings into hollow spaces. Press it again to tidy what an earlier run left.
- NewRemove floating pieces. Plugs, shavings and dots that hang in the air next to a part go in one click. The biggest piece always stays.
- NewRemesh, in one panel. Untriangulate turns flat triangles into clean polygons. Triangulate brings them back, more even. U and Shift+U run them on your selection.
- NewSplit by faces. Cut a mesh at its creases, so every face is a part of its own. Smallest part keeps the crumbs together. Much faster on big meshes.
- NewA search that gets you. Words in any order, your own words (“remove” finds Delete), a typo, or just initials: “rh” finds Remove holes. It finds settings too, and flips a switch right in the results.
- NewSearch tells you why. Commands that can’t run are greyed out with the reason, like “Select a part first”. A new Search pane in Settings chooses what it looks through.
- NewMaterials and Library can float. Pop either out as a window, move it, resize it from any edge. Both open side by side.
- NewDrag a material onto your model. It goes onto the selection, or onto the part under the pointer. Shift and a drop on another material merges the two.
- NewNever lose your selection. When it’s out of view, a faint arrow at the edge points the way. Click it and the camera frames it.
- NewOrbit your way: around the selection, the scene or the point under your pointer. Invert the direction, stop at the horizon, set the pan speed.
- NewRight-click any number to cut, copy, paste and reset it, or to step, double and halve the value.
- NewTwo shortcuts that always work. Shift+C opens the search, and New scene is Alt+N, because browsers keep Ctrl+N for themselves.
- NewWalk the tree with the arrow keys. Up and Down move through the rows, Shift extends the selection, Right and Left open and close a group, Home and End jump to the ends.
- PolishA calmer material editor: the look of the newer panels, it stays where you put it, and it scrolls. Double-click a material card to rename it. Presets live on the + button, and the library’s shelves are tabs.
- PolishFrame fits what it frames: a long thin part fills the width, a small part fills the view. Dynamic place sets a tilted part down the same way every time.
- PolishThe quick ring is smaller and shows icons only. The name appears beside the command you point at.
- PolishThe small things. Click anywhere on a switch row to flip it. Esc closes Export, Import and Save. A tree row’s menu opens at the pointer. Remove holes shows in the Tasks list while it runs.
- FixThe Drop small parts field in the import window had gone invisible. It’s back.
- FixChanging only the angle now gives a fresh conversion instead of the old file. Fine and Ultra also make small holes rounder.
- FixRemove holes no longer leaves a ring of points where a hole was, and no longer finds the same hole again and again.
- FixRemove holes closes holes it used to skip: in thin sheets, in countersinks, and on faces where two openings touch.
- FixTidy no longer deletes a small piece whose hole was just closed.
- FixThe search, Settings and Keyboard shortcuts hand the keyboard back when they close.
- FixWindows stack the way you expect: menus and Settings open in front of floating windows, and the material editor no longer covers everything.
- FixThe scale handle in the middle of the gizmo no longer jumps when you press near the centre.
- FixThe grid stays crisp after you zoom in on a tiny part, and doesn’t fade away when you pull back.
- FixPressing Centre pivot twice no longer makes the gizmo disappear.
- FixShift+click in the tree starts from the row you picked last.
-
v0.22.0Ig12 Oct 20265 fixes
Just ask Claude. Updates that install themselves. And if the app ever crashes, your work is waiting for you.
- NewMeet Claude in MeshOptimiser. Say what you want: “find all the bolts and hide them”, “get this under 5 MB”. Claude does it with the same tools you use. Turn it on in Settings when you’re ready. It stays off until you do.
- NewYou’re always in charge. Claude asks before it changes anything, and deleting always asks. Every change is one Ctrl+Z away from undone.
- NewTry before you commit. Claude can show you exactly what a step would do, then take it back. And big jobs take one request: shrink a model to the size you need, see before and after side by side, or work through a whole folder. Watch it go, and stop it any time.
- NewPictures that are ready to send. Clean renders up to 8192 pixels, from several angles at once, on a plain or transparent background. Plus a turntable video.
- NewUpdates without the hassle. Settings, Updates tells you when a new version is ready and installs it in one click. It’s a few megabytes, your files and settings stay right where they are, and the previous version is kept so you can go back any time. Versions before 0.22.0 need one manual update first.
- NewYour work, safe from crashes. While you have unsaved changes, MeshOptimiser quietly keeps a copy in your browser. If the app ever crashes, your scene is waiting on the start screen the next time you open it. It’s a safety net for crashes, not a backup, so keep saving.
- NewSharp edges stay sharp. When you reduce triangles, rims, steps and corners hold their shape. On by default.
- NewExport lighter, draw faster. GLB export now offers Meshopt compression, about a quarter of the original size, and Faster to draw, which re-orders the file so it draws quicker in any viewer.
- NewThe small things you’ll notice. New scenes start with the unit and up direction you choose. A Tasks chip shows what every tab is up to. Point at a row and its part lights up in the view. Drop a folder and the model inside opens.
- FixClosing a tab now stops a running conversion instantly. No more computer working away in the background for hours.
- FixThe selection stays put while a model explodes.
- FixThe box around parts is no longer off after exploding.
- FixThe floor grid fits again after you add a model to a scene.
- FixSmart fit now handles a ring with a small tab or ears.
- PolishA new loading animation, a clear six-step view while a STEP file opens, a wider left sidebar and sharper turntable videos.
-
v0.21.0Bloke9 Oct 2026
Show it and ship it. A turntable video saves one slow turn round the model as a WebM, the Export dialog has presets for where the file is going, and the Selection bar has the actions I reach for most.
- NewTurntable video. The film button next to the camera takes the camera once round the model and saves a WebM: 720p to 1440p, square or portrait, 4 to 12 seconds, 24, 30 or 60 frames a second. It fits the model to the frame, loops, and is encoded in the browser, so nothing is uploaded.
- NewWhere is it going? Web viewer, AR on iPhone, Unreal Engine, Unity and 3D print in the Export dialog. One press sets the format, the unit scale, the up axis, the origin, merge and Draco, and the size meter checks against the same place.
- NewHide, Isolate, Frame and Duplicate are buttons in the Selection bar, next to the others.
- PolishThe Selection bar is calmer: outlined buttons directly on the panel, the Delete count in the header, and the selection actions in one bar under Properties.
-
v0.20.0Kanal9 Oct 20269 fixes
You can draw. A Draw tool makes lines and shapes, and they are real parts of the scene: rows in the tree, in groups, moved with the gizmo, with Shape and Spline cards in Properties and a Sweep that turns a path and a profile into a solid. The tree gets organising commands, the converter reads IGES and BREP, copies are found in files from other tools, and the app looks after itself.
- NewA Draw tool (L). Pen, rectangle, circle, arc, polygon, freehand and edit, in Bezier, Cubic, B-spline or Linear. Place a shape with two clicks and type its size: 20 x 10, Enter. Draw on the ground, the front, the side, the view, or on the face of a part.
- NewSnapping you can see. A field of dots fades in round the pointer, and a click a few pixels off a dot still lands on it. Bezier handles snap to the grid, and Shift snaps the angle in 15° steps.
- NewEdit any line. Drag points and handles, click a curve to add a point, double-click a point for smooth or sharp, Ctrl-drag a handle to break it from its partner. A ring on the corner of a rectangle or polygon rounds or cuts every corner when you drag it.
- NewA line is a part of the scene. It has a row in the tree, so you can rename it, hide it, group it, nest it and move it with the gizmo. Lines open from GLB and glTF files and go back into them.
- NewProperties for lines. A Shape card (width, radius, sides, corners) and a Spline card: Type, Close Spline, and Interpolation with Points, Angle and Maximum length.
- NewSweep. Carry a circle, a rectangle or another line along a path, with a scale at both ends, a twist and closed ends. The result is a normal part.
- NewOrganise the tree from a group’s right-click menu: Remove group (keep contents), Flatten this group, Sort A to Z and Z to A, Move up and down, Delete empty groups, Expand or Collapse a branch. Ctrl and Shift pick groups and parts together.
- NewThe converter reads IGES and BREP, converts a whole folder with --batch, writes LOD files with --lod, and keeps each node’s CAD data in its extras.
- NewCopies are found in files from other tools, so a GLB, FBX, OBJ or 3MF that repeats a bolt a hundred times becomes one mesh. Decimate can work “within” a distance in millimetres, Export can check against a web page, Shopify, AR Quick Look or a phone app, and Smart optimise keeps recipes.
- NewThe server closes ten seconds after the last window and takes its converters with it. A crash is noticed at the next start, with Reopen last file and Safe mode, and a warning shows when Chrome is not using the graphics card.
- FixDeduplicate geometry no longer deletes real parts. It removed every part whose shape it had seen before, so 400 placed copies of one bolt became one. Now a part goes only when an identical one sits in the same place.
- FixScan whole model no longer freezes the app. It works in slices, with progress and a Cancel button.
- FixA leak in Split is closed: each split and undo left about 130 outline shapes on the graphics card.
- FixThe floor grid is no longer cut off when you zoom in close, and changing the scene scale keeps the view where it was.
- FixA slip of the mouse no longer eats a click in the tree. Ctrl and Shift clicks never start a drag, and a press that lets go on its own row is a click.
- FixShift no longer lights up the button you just clicked.
- PolishThe Draw card is compact, and the next tooltip appears at once while one is showing. Smart fit is tidier, and its Advanced section has its own reset button.
-
v0.15.0Tabor9 Oct 2026
The commands come to the pointer. Hold W and a ring of commands opens under it. The rest is about making a model lighter without breaking it: a repair, a way to remove the faces nobody sees, merging and selecting by rule, Untriangulate, a wireframe that shows polygons, and a simplifier that now looks after normals, UVs and colours.
- NewQuick wand (hold W). A ring of commands opens round the pointer; move toward a slice and let go of W. Only the direction counts, so a short flick is enough. With a selection it has Hide, Reduce, Delete and More; with nothing selected it has Fit view, Select all, View, Show all, File and Clean. A slice that holds a group fans out when the pointer is on it (Decimate −25 % to −90 %, Smart fit, Split and Fill holes; the views; Save; the clean-ups). A command that cannot run stays on the ring, dimmed, and says why. A quick tap of W leaves the ring open to click; Esc, any other key, the wheel or a click outside closes it, and it never runs anything by accident. You can try it on the home page.
- NewRepair mesh joins doubled vertices, removes empty and doubled triangles and turns faces so that neighbours agree which side is out. Remove hidden faces looks at each part from many sides and deletes the faces that never show: the inside of a housing, the faces where two parts press together. Both undo in one step.
- NewMerge by material or by group joins parts into one mesh per material or per group. Select by rule picks parts by name, material, group, triangles and size, or by whether they are shown, flagged, instanced or selected, and says how many fit as you type.
- NewUntriangulate turns neighbouring flat triangles into one polygon and cuts it again with the fewest triangles, without changing the shape: a flat plate of 200 triangles becomes 38. Wireframe is now the solid surfaces with a thin black line on every edge, drawn as Triangles, Polygons or Outline.
- NewDecimate and Fit to budget now weigh normals, UVs and vertex colours, so a crease or a UV seam is not flattened as readily as a smooth patch. The report shows an estimate of how far the surfaces moved.
- NewDynamic place has a scale handle: a small cube on top of the part. Drag it up to grow the part, down to shrink it, with a see-through ghost of the old size behind.
- PolishThe animations at the top of the Help cards are redrawn so that they match, with one lighting and the accent blue for what is selected. The sidebar drag handles sit on the status-bar row.
-
v0.14.0Most8 Oct 202672 fixes
The biggest release so far. A CAD view and a Shading card, Dynamic place, an Align to floor that shows what it will do, Help inside the app, a Settings window that can change the look of the interface, a rebuilt Export window, and three tools that clean a scene up for you. I also read the whole code base, tested it hard on assemblies with thousands of parts and fixed 72 things, most of them in the places you only notice when they go wrong: undo, exports and big files. Opening a big model is faster, too.
- NewA CAD view (key 6) and a Shading card. The CAD view has no lights or reflections: every surface is shaded by which way it faces the camera, with a dark line on every sharp edge. The card under Properties holds every look as a small 3D nut: Default, Clay, Porcelain, Steel and Red wax, and the CAD looks Ceramic, Light and Mono. One Outlines switch draws the edge lines in every view.
- NewDynamic place (key D). Press the selected part and drag it over other surfaces: it rests on the surface under the cursor and turns to face it, like dragging a part out of a library onto a model. Choose which side of the part points away from the surface, a gap, and a turn; the wheel turns it while you hold it. One undo step.
- NewAlign to floor shows what it will do. A small 3D drawing of the floor, the origin and the model rings the point that goes to zero and turns two arrows (its top and its front) as you turn the model. Nothing moves until you press the button. It opens over the viewport like Split and Fill holes.
- NewHelp inside the app (F1): the whole knowledge base of this site, with search, working offline. Settings has an Appearance page (accent colours, four tones, fonts, text size, corners and density) and an About page that copies the details a bug report needs.
- NewA splash screen while the app starts: the rear derailleur drawn as glowing 3D lines, then the app fades in part by part. It can be switched off in Settings.
- PolishThe Export window is rebuilt. A file name with the same pills as Save scene, a summary of what will be written, Flatten groups, ASCII STL, only the options that apply to the format, and your choices remembered. Batch rename is redesigned too, with a Quick tab, buttons for the pattern pieces and a preview that marks what changed.
- PolishCards over the viewport can be moved by their title bar. Stacked copies is one of them now. Heavy parts are the parts over 10,000 triangles, with a count beside the title. The sidebars have drag handles that stay put and a minimum width, and the Collapse button has a menu for the whole tree, the selection or from the selection down.
- PolishFaster on a big model. The outline of the selection and the edge lines are drawn by the graphics card, so nothing is copied when parts move, and the picture for the Recents list and the spare copy of the app for the next tab wait until you have stopped clicking.
- FixEdge lines show on every part whatever the tilt, are not hidden by the ground grid, and no longer trail behind their parts in an exploded view. Materials work while Clay or CAD is on, and the Properties card shows the material the part really has.
- NewSmart optimise. One card, one button, at the top of Reduce. It runs every clean-up the app has, one after another: empty and broken parts, parts hidden inside, bolts and nuts, small parts, holes in flat faces, and a reduction to the triangle count you set. Light, Balanced or Strong, or Auto. The whole run is one undo step.
- NewFasteners finds bolts, screws, nuts and washers by their shape, whatever they’re called, and selects them. Stacked copies finds parts drawn twice in the same place. Select similar has a strictness slider, from “about the same size” to “the very same shape”.
- NewThe library is a drawer under the viewport (Shift + L). Click a part to look at it, turn it, set its size, and then it goes in with those sizes. A starred shelf, small or large tiles.
- NewDrop a file on a scene that already has parts and the app asks: add it here, or open it in a new tab. Right-click a tab for duplicate, close others and recent files. Hold Shift while dragging a handle to snap, and turn the wheel to change the step.
- FixThe FBX opens elsewhere. A binary FBX carries an id, a creation time and a closing code that have to agree, and the FBX SDK refuses the file when they don’t. Mine wrote a random id with a fixed code, so Blender and the app could read it and another program couldn’t. They agree now.
- FixAn FBX now says what its units are and which way is up. A 2.6 m machine used to arrive in another program 26 m long, and a Z-up scene was labelled Y-up.
- FixThe binary FBX shares its materials: one per colour instead of one per mesh. A 778-part model arrived with 778 materials and took 13 seconds to open. Now it has 40 and opens in 1.4 s. OBJ keeps parts that share a name separate: 778 parts used to arrive as 325.
- FixUp axis and Scene scale no longer leak into the file for some parts and not others. A part you moved after changing either one used to be written turned or resized while its neighbours weren’t.
- FixThe local server only answers the app’s own page. Before, any web page open in your browser could send requests to localhost:4242. Folders are no longer listed either, and nothing is served from .git or .venv.
- FixNames and scene data from a file are never run as markup. Three places built HTML from them without escaping: measurements saved inside a GLB, the label that follows a dragged tree row, and the Flatten dialog.
- FixA fresh install converts STEP again. The OpenCascade package had moved to a version the converter can’t import, so the versions are pinned now, and start.bat installs again when the requirements change or the first install failed.
- FixPosition, rotation and size show the whole number. The steppers took half the field and the unit sat on top of the digits, so −1091.234 read as −1091.
- FixHidden instanced parts no longer wreck Select all. A hidden copy was built from a zero matrix, and the NaN that came out spread to every selected part. Undo now brings back deleted instanced parts, which used to come back as rows with nothing drawn.
- FixUndoing a fit in an exploded view no longer throws parts around, and merging in an exploded view no longer leaves the merged part at the exploded place. Merge now keeps the part where it was in the tree, in the same group and at the same depth.
- FixSmart fit no longer fits and moves its neighbours. Parts that shared a shape with a fitted part were fitted with it, and put on its position, if they stood within 5% of the model’s size.
- FixThe Heavy parts list follows the scene. A part deleted with the Delete key stayed listed, and undo didn’t bring it back.
- FixA hidden part kept its selection outline, and a part shown again had none. Every way of hiding and showing now ends with the outline on exactly the selected parts you can see.
- FixDelete small parts only looks at parts that are on show, and tells you how many hidden ones it skipped.
- FixLess flicker between panels lying on each other. The camera’s near plane now follows the model’s nearest depth, which gives the depth buffer several times the precision at normal distances: 0.001 mm instead of 0.008 mm on a 3.5 m assembly seen from 6.8 m.
- FixThe 2D views (Top, Front, Side) have their grid back, orbiting out of one returns to the perspective camera, and screenshots from them aren’t stretched.
- FixFiles with invalid coordinates open. NaN and Infinity become 0, with a notice, where before the camera turned into not-a-number and the viewport never recovered. Broken and empty files get a plain message.
- FixFBX files with leftover geometry open directly instead of going through the slower conversion. A geometry attached to nothing, left behind when its object was deleted before export, made the reader give up.
- FixSplit by proximity can’t freeze the tab on a plate or a box any more. Its grid is bounded now, where one triangle used to fill millions of cells.
- FixA colour changed in the material editor is exported and shows on the part’s swatch. Duplicate and Split keep the material a part is wearing. Clay no longer sticks to parts made while it was on.
- FixQuit asks about every open scene, not only the one in front. Import no longer turns later Opens into appends, and “Don’t ask again” can be undone in Settings.
- FixSettings and Keyboard shortcuts open in front of the start screen. They used to open behind it, so nothing seemed to happen.
- FixSwitches can be reached with Tab and flipped with Space. Enter presses the button that has focus in a dialog instead of always accepting, and Esc in a dropdown closes only the dropdown. Single-key shortcuts no longer fire behind a dialog.
- FixA STEP file with nothing solid in it says so instead of showing a traceback. Cancelling a conversion stops the converter on macOS and Linux too, and a cancel that arrives early isn’t lost.
- FixThe launchers check for Python 3.10 to 3.12 and say what’s wrong when it’s another version. Starting the app twice opens the window on the server that’s already running. The macOS launchers are executable after a clone.
- FixDozens of smaller ones: Lock on a mixed selection, Find and Replace treating $ as text, OBJ export keeping non-Latin names, ASCII FBX keeping its precision at any scale, the cloner leaving a copy at the centre, redo in the cloner throwing the rest of the redo list away, and more. The full list is on GitHub.

v0.13.0Gore8 Oct 20261 fix
It now feels like an app. You can install it, it opens in a window with no address bar or browser tabs, and the title bar can fold away. The scene tabs got better too, and a view that’s moving skips what you couldn’t see anyway.
- NewInstall it from Chrome or Edge and you get a desktop icon and a window of its own. start.bat opens that window directly.
- NewIn the installed app you can fold the title bar away. The window buttons float over the corner and the app’s own top bar takes over.
- NewDrag tabs into order. The tab follows the pointer, the others slide aside, and Esc puts it back.
- PolishTabs have a dot on the icon (yellow for unsaved, green for saved), a click on the icon saves, and the close button moved to the right end.
- NewEvery tab can share the same sidebars, so switching scenes keeps the widths and the folded left sidebar. There’s a switch in Settings to turn it off.
- PerfWhile you orbit, parts under about three pixels are skipped, and the resolution only drops if frames get slow. Both come back the moment you stop.
- FixProperties no longer jumps when a tag appears. “782 hidden” arriving on Isolate used to push the rest of the card down.
- PolishThe renderer picker moved to Settings, the Menu button lost its arrow, and the loading bar is one flat blue.

v0.12.0Med8 Oct 20262 fixes
Until now MeshOptimiser opened a model and made it lighter. From this version it can build too: a drawer of 86 parts to drag in, a sideways model stood up on the floor from one card, a whole scene brought down to a triangle count you type, and dark parts that finally look like something.
- NewThe library drawer has 86 parts on six shelves: hex bolts, socket screws, carriage bolts and U bolts; wing, castle, lock and T-slot nuts; pipe tees, elbows and flanges; I beams, box tube and T-slot extrusion; gears, sprockets, bearings, pillow blocks, a linear rail and a stepper motor.
- NewDrag a part out and a see-through copy follows the pointer, already standing where it will land: flat against the face under it, or upright on the floor. Choose M6 × 24 once and every fastener comes out that size.
- NewA bolt can bring its own nut. Pick a wing nut or a castle nut and set how far from the head it sits. It stays one part with one undo step, and it can’t run off the end of the thread.
- NewAlign to floor: files arrive any way up. Turn the model in steps, say which side goes to zero on each axis, and watch it move. Switch it on for every file and you’ll never open a model lying down again.
- NewSelect hidden parts finds the screws inside a housing and the board under a cover. Fit to budget takes a triangle count for the whole scene and reduces the heaviest meshes first, with a preview and a Cancel.
- NewSmart fit learned two new shapes. Boxes turns a levelling foot into a slab and a bar. Blocks rebuilds a part from a coarse grid and keeps its steps, arms and openings. A 16,812-triangle drive unit came out at 3,048.
- NewClay view (5) strips the colour so only the shape is left, in clay, porcelain, steel or red wax. A studio to reflect and a headlight that follows the view give dark parts an edge and a sheen.
- NewSearch finds parts by name and library parts (“add flange”), and works out 12*25.4 or 2 in. Every number field can be dragged. The optimisation report puts the scene as it was opened next to the scene now.
- FixParts no longer show through thin covers when you zoom out. Under a sheet-metal cover the parts used to flicker through, worse the further away the camera was, because the depth buffer loses precision with distance. The camera’s near plane now moves away from the model with it.
- FixRecent files keep their location after a drag and drop, a re-pick, and when the file has changed size.
- PolishThe right sidebar is grouped into Inspect, Clean up and Reduce, and the selected row in the tree is easier to spot. The section plane is gone.
-
v0.11.0Sol7 Oct 202611 fixes
The way you use it changed. Scenes open in tabs, tools show up as cards beside the model instead of sitting in a sidebar, every number can be dragged, and one Settings window replaces the three places that used to hold options. It also fixed a long list of things that went wrong with undo.
- NewScene tabs. Each tab has its own scene and its own undo history. New and Open never replace a scene that has something in it, and a spare tab is kept ready so a new one is there at once.
- NewSplit (X) and Fill holes (P) open as cards beside the model. Enter runs them, and Esc puts the card away before it clears your selection.
- NewFill holes got options: through, blind and open holes, a smallest size, a depth limit and a flatness tolerance. It was tested on a very large assembly with nine different sets of options.
- NewDrag any number to change it. Shape parameters take one line each. There’s one Settings window with a search, every command is behind “…”, and the shortcuts no longer clash.
- NewProperties is never empty. With nothing selected it shows the scene’s totals. With a part selected it shows its triangles, what was saved, its share of the scene and its rank by weight.
- FixA filled hole can no longer leave a crack. A fill is only accepted if every edge it cuts is covered by a cap and every cap can be closed completely, and the zero-area stitch triangles that CAD meshes carry are removed with the wall they were stitched to.
- FixUndoing a group could throw its parts across the scene. A selected part hangs on the move gizmo’s pivot, and the undo entry recorded that pivot as the part’s parent. Redoing “group a group” also moved everything inside it.
- FixHide selected (H) is an undo step now. It had none, so Ctrl+Z after H undid whatever came before it.
- FixMaterial names keep up. A new material is named after its colour instead of a random code, the name follows the colour, and applying or undoing a preset while the editor is open refreshes the editor.
- FixA scene made only of added shapes showed 0 triangles in the status bar. The status bar and Properties gave different sizes for the same mesh right after loading, and both now count shared geometry once.
- FixThe four shape tiles on the start screen all showed the torus, because their thumbnails were rendered at the same time through one shared mesh.
- FixDragging a number could go on following the mouse after you let go, and a click didn’t always put the caret in the field. Tooltips inside a card appeared instantly and cut off after the first words; they wait now and show the whole tip.
- PolishA darker, calmer interface in one tone. The GPU path tracer is gone, and nothing is fetched from a CDN at start-up.
-
v0.10Kit7 Oct 202617 fixes
Faster, with tools it didn’t have before: a hole filler that can tell a hole from a boss, a materials drawer, a decimator that keeps normals and UVs, background workers, and a part tree that keeps up with five million triangles. And a long list of things that were quietly wrong in the tree. Version 0.10.1 followed ten minutes later with one change: the libraries the viewer needs now come with the app, so it starts without a CDN and works with no connection at all.
- FixThe tree hides nothing. A group used to vanish from the hierarchy as soon as it had no live parts, although it still existed. Every group is listed now, and one with nothing in it says “empty”.
- FixDeleting a group deletes the group. Delete on a selected group, and “Delete group” in the menu, remove the row with its contents, and one undo brings both back.
- FixThe parts tree scrolls in one direction, with the eye and colour column staying lined up. Rows used to be as wide as their own text, so the eyes of short rows slid around when you scrolled sideways.
- FixImport and Append keep the existing tree instead of moving every part into “Untraced”. A failed load no longer turns the next Open into an append.
- FixA second geometry edit on the same part could stop the viewport from drawing at all, with an error on every frame. The WebGPU renderer decides what to upload by comparing attribute names and version numbers, and a freshly built geometry looked unchanged to it. Every tool that swaps geometry now stamps it.
- FixEvery remaining editing gap now has an undo: values typed into the transform panel, tree drag and drop, the eye icon on a group, every other visibility toggle, and the materials panel.
- FixHiding and showing reach instanced parts everywhere: the eye icon, Hide unselected, group toggles and hide by colour.
- FixCloner copies are exported and saved. Only the source part used to be written.
- FixCancel stops a STEP conversion. The loader’s Cancel ends the polling and stops the converter on the server, so a conversion can’t finish later and replace your scene.
- FixThe move readout showed “Y +0.00” and “Z +0.00” while you dragged a rotated part, because it read the travel along the wrong axes. It follows the gizmo’s own axes now.
- FixIn a small window the right sidebar was pushed off the edge. The column shrinks now, and the status bar drops the vertex and memory counts, then the file name, before anything else.
- FixCollapsing and re-expanding a group no longer brings back the rows of deleted parts, and adding a shape highlights the new part in the tree instead of the previous one.
- FixThe icon set is pinned to one version (0.10.1). It used to load as “latest”, so an upstream release could rename or drop an icon without warning.
-
v0.9.0Mir7 Oct 202624 fixes
More trustworthy. A self-test that runs inside the app, undo for every action, exports that match the scene, and a restyled interface. This was the version where I stopped trusting that things worked and started checking.
- NewA self-test that runs inside the app and checks the things that broke before.
- FixDecimate destroyed parts. The removal count was taken from the un-indexed corner count, three per triangle, instead of the welded vertex count, so at −50% most parts were reduced to zero triangles. Now −25, −50 and −75% remove exactly that share.
- FixDecimate never reached the export. The reduced geometry wasn’t registered under the part’s hash, so export, merge and the memory readout still used the original mesh.
- FixSave scene lost its state. The marker node was flagged invisible and the exporter skips invisible objects, so the camera, view settings, hidden parts and measurements were never written. Save scene also mangled node names and wrapped the scene in one more group on every save and reopen.
- FixExporting in Wireframe, X-ray or Heatmap baked the view mode into the file. Export and Save scene now run in Solid and put the view back afterwards.
- FixRecenter and Center pivot didn’t reach the export, so the file kept the old positions. Bake transforms also displaced parts that sat under a moved parent, and a part that shared its buffer with another (any duplicate) was transformed twice or moved a part you hadn’t selected.
- FixPLY export hung on “Preparing export…” whenever the tab was in the background. Hidden instanced parts exported with NaN transforms.
- FixSix tools pushed no undo entry, so Ctrl+Z reverted an older, unrelated action: Decimate, Recenter on origin, Bake transforms, Center pivot, Recompute normals and Delete empty groups. All six undo and redo now. Undo of Isolate, Show all and Hide unselected restores instanced parts as well.
- FixFlatten and “Delete empty groups” work from the tree now. Selecting a part moves its mesh out of its group in the scene graph, and both tools trusted the scene graph. Grouping parts from different levels no longer pulls the outside part into the first part’s group.
- FixDelete acted on the scene behind an open dialog, and Ctrl+S also toggled Isolate. Global shortcuts are ignored while a dialog is open or a dropdown has focus.
- FixThe ruler only measured on Ctrl+click while the hint said “Click two points”. A plain click picks now, and picking no longer changes the selection.
- FixShift-click range no longer sweeps up rows hidden by a search or a collapsed group. “% of model” showed 173% for a single cube. Three sidebar cards wouldn’t collapse. A few shortcut hints were wrong.
-
v0.8.0Dim11 May 20269 fixes
The groundwork got modern: a ray-marched floor grid, one keycap style on every shortcut, undo rebuilt as a flat list of commands, and all the CSS that was injected at runtime moved into the stylesheet.
- NewA ray-marched ground grid. It stays sharp at any distance, doesn’t shimmer when you orbit, and doesn’t fight with the model for depth.
- NewA new Shortcuts overlay with a sticky search, category headers, two columns and one keycap per key of a combination. Press ? to open it.
- PolishOne keycap style on the hint strip, the tooltips, the command palette, the brand menu and the Shortcuts overlay. Smart fit and its arrow are one control now.
- RefactorEight pieces of CSS that were injected at runtime (about 490 lines) moved into the stylesheet, and eleven undo patches became one registry covering 21 operations.
- FixThe grid shimmered by a pixel or two when you orbited, because the camera-follow moved the mesh by sub-pixel amounts every frame. The cube on the grid no longer fights it for depth.
- FixThe tree summary stayed at “1 parts in hierarchy” after a delete because it counted deleted parts too. A group’s origin dot no longer gets stranded in space when every part in it is deleted.
- FixThe group button no longer asks for a name, and the path tracer no longer throws an error into the console on an empty scene.
- FixThree bugs in the materials panel: adding a material toasted a confusing hint, duplicating one needed a part selected for no reason, and merging left the absorbed materials in the list as ghosts and leaked their GPU memory.
-
v0.7.0Slap11 May 2026
A GPU path tracer with a render window that builds up samples, a hint strip that follows what you’re doing, an add-a-shape picker on long press, a standalone Cloner you can drag parts into, and Revert to source.
-
v0.6.0Sir11 May 20263 fixes
A live Cloner, a Ctrl-click measure tool, an origin marker for every group, a two-panel Export window, simplification and Meshopt on by default, and mouse buttons that work the way CAD programs expect.
- FixFace winding. Only truly reversed faces are flipped now. The old check also flipped internal and external faces and left back-face artefacts on cellular geometry.
- FixTwo different shapes could end up with the same hash, so a cube and its diagonal mirror were treated as one. They aren’t any more.
- FixThe size readout of a Meshopt-compressed GLB was blind, because the library that read it can’t decode compressed files. It reads the file’s own header now.
-
v0.5.0Vas8 May 20261 fix
Scene management (New scene, Import and merge, Scene settings), parametric shapes with millimetre inputs, transforms that know their units, backgrounds without banding, and a clean shutdown.
- FixThe Transform panel refreshes after a shape is rebuilt, so the numbers match the new geometry instead of staying on the old ones.
-
v0.4.0Rob7 May 20264 fixes
HDRI lighting, an endless floor grid with fog, parametric shapes, a camera pill with Ctrl or ⌘ + 1 to 4, popups without borders, and a refreshed blue.
- FixThe right-click menu in the viewport was completely broken: another handler cancelled every right-click before the app’s menu could build. It works again.
- FixGoing back to an HDRI background after loading another one gave a black scene. A rapid edit of a shape’s parameters could crash the renderer on a buffer race.
- FixTooltips no longer get stranded on screen when a popup opens, a dialog shows, the window loses focus, or a panel slides in over the button.
-
v0.3.0Log7 May 20265 fixes
A full material editor with shader-ball previews, a scale gizmo that snaps with Shift and shows live values, screenshots at any size, Top, Front and Side views, and a rescue path for old FBX files.
- FixSaving a screenshot fired the save dialog twice and wrote a 0-byte PNG. A save that was refused, or locked by OneDrive, silently dropped the file; all three failures now fall back to a normal download.
- FixTextures leaked memory every time you swapped models. They’re all released now, and material thumbnails fall back to a simple 2D drawing when WebGL isn’t there, instead of blank tiles.
- FixCopy, Paste and Select All work again on every number and text field. A custom right-click had been eating them everywhere.
-
v0.2.0Dom6 May 2026
The editing side arrived: a start screen, a command palette, a shortcuts overlay, settings, section planes, a switchable renderer, batch rename, flatten, dissolve and ungroup, undo and redo, and Save scene. Expanding and collapsing a tree of 10,000 nodes went from about a second to under 10 ms.
-
v0.1.0Pot5 May 2026
The first public commit: the STEP to GLB pipeline, the WebGPU viewer with the part tree, picking, hide, isolate and colouring by group, the local server, one-click launchers, and bundled Draco and Assimp decoders.
Pick how you run it.
Web opens a sample gearbox first and needs a window 960 px wide. Best in Chrome: Safari on a Mac can lag.
